Cascadian Farm has announced Mountain Peak Organic, which will be launched as an exclusive sub-brand of premium, organic, frozen berries through Whole Foods stores across the USA.

"With more than 40 years of experience in the organic industry and 25 years growing premium, organic blueberries at our Home Farm in Skagit Valley, WA, we're bringing you closer to the farm and closer to your food through these delicious, high quality berries," said Ashley Minnerath, site director, Cascadian Farm Home Farm.

The two new Mountain Peak Organic by Cascadian Farm product offerings hitting Whole Food shelves this month are:

Mountain Peak Organic Blueberries –an 8-ounce frozen blueberry package containing blueberries from the Home Farm in Washington. Four varieties of blueberries, including Patriots, Toros, Bluecrop and Spartan are used to ensure a diverse and flavourful blend, the company says.

Mountain Peak Organic Harvest Berries – This is a 10-ounce package containing a blend of strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries sourced from a dedicated network of organic farms around the world. The blend is said to offer a medley of sweet, juicy flavour.

The frozen berries can easily be defrosted, the company says, and used in a variety of recipes or on their own.

"We continue our tradition of using certified organic practices and farming in harmony with nature," said Minnerath. "At our Home Farm, we use only natural biological systems for pest control and focus on conserving and restoring habitat to strengthen our local bee populations. We couldn't produce such delicious berries without healthy pollinators."
