About us

Lipoid was founded in 1977 with the aim of producing natural, high-quality phospholipids on an industrial scale. Nowadays, Lipoid has established itself as a global expert for phospholipids without losing its vision of a sustainable future. Therefore, only natural sources such as egg yolk, sunflower and soybeans are used. The company has grown to almost 500 employees and a worldwide distribution network. The broad portfolio comprises phospholipids for various applications such as pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, and cosmetics – always combined with scientific knowledge and know-how.

 

Phospholipids are amphiphilic molecules that enable the production of high-quality emulsions and liposomes. These systems can enhance the stability and bioavailability of incorporated nutrients in a natural way. In addition to these benefits, phosphatidylcholine (PC) – the most prominent phospholipid – is a natural source of the vitamin-like substance choline.

 

Besides raw materials, Lipoid also offers liquid delivery systems: LIPOID Liposome Basic or PHOSAL® enable the production of customized liposomal products or water-soluble emulsions without the use of expensive equipment. The portfolio is accomplished with our latest innovative technology: PhytoSolve®. These emulsions are ready-to-use formulations with lipophilic nutrients such as omega-3 fatty acids or vitamins A, D3, E and K2. The great advantage is the easy dispersion of these fat-soluble substances in water combined with a higher bioavailability.
