About
Company description
The
Georgian Walnut Enterprise was established in 2014. Our Company’s business is
growing and processing walnuts. The Company’s
walnut orchards are situated
in Akhasheni Village, Kakheti Region, where Chandler
walnut trees are extended on
a 240 ha area.
The company has implemented
the highest management
and food safety standards and holds the Global GAP certificate in primary agricultural
production. The walnut farming (from pruning to harvesting) is fully
mechanized.
In
2020, a processing plant was built and the company received its first
commercial crop. The enterprise adopted the BRC Global Food Safety and
management standards. Walnuts produced by us meet high standards of quality and
have fresh taste. The company's goal is to create an eco-friendly product, the
production process of which at the same time leads to the improvement of
ecology and minimizing negative environmental impacts. Within the framework of
the mentioned project, we have already planted about 68,000 trees. Our
Company’s walnut orchards are situated in Gurjaani Municipality,
Kakheti Region, Eastern
Georgia. The Alazani Plain has a
moderately warm climate. The proximity of the Caucasus mountains, forests,
rivers and fertile soil ensure the special taste of the fruit. The orchard is planted
with Chandler variety seedlings grafted onto the rootstock. The use of
pesticides and fertilizers is heavily
regulated by EU
rules and Global GAP standards. The safety of the produced product and
compliance with European standards are systematically checked in international
laboratories. The Spanish company Nogaltec and its founder Federico López
Larrinaga provide agronomic advisory services to our company in terms
of this project. The
BRC standard has been implemented in the processing section, which also
includes HACCP regulations.
