Blackcurrant (scientific name: Ribes nigrum L.), a deciduous erect shrub, 1-2 m tall; born in spruce forests, larch forests or under mixed conifer and broad forests in moist valley bottoms, gully sides or slopes.
Blackcurrant fruits are rich in many vitamins, sugars and organic acids, especially high in vitamin C. They are mainly used for making jams, fruit wines and beverages.
