Carrageenans are extracts of red seaweeds. There are three categories of carrageenans depending on the origin of the seaweed used: kappa, Iota and lambda. Refined carrageenans (E 407) differ from semi-refined carrageenans (E 407a) owing to their manufacturing process. It has thickening or gelling properties. Contact us for more information.
