Gamma-aminobutyric acid(GABA)is an amino acid found in foods,such as fruits, vegetables,tea and fermented foods. In mammals, GABA is generated from glutamic acid by glutamic acid decarboxylase and functions as an inhibitory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system .
