Hesperidin is a flavanone glycoside (flavonoid) (C28H34O15) found abundantly in citrus fruits.
Various studies reveal novel pharmaceutical properties, such as: Reduction in cholesterol and blood pressure.

Reduction in bone density loss using large doses of the glucoside hesperidin.
Protective effects against sepsis.
Anti-inflammatory effects.
As a sedative, possibly acting through adenosine receptors.
Ability to penetrate the blood brain barrier in an in vitro model.
