At De Wit Speciality Oils we are working on a ground-breaking project focusing on bio-based solvent extraction. Solvent-based extraction of vegetable oil is an essential step for many plant-based products, especially for vegetable oils and proteins from special flower seeds. This way we are able to create new ingredients that can be implemented in innovative plant-based food concepts.

Solvent-based extraction: new products for plant-based foods
We are looking forward to introducing and developing our new ingredients for plant-based foods from protein and fibers, by using a safe and effective solvent-based extraction method. We are able to use a 100% bio-based solvent as a green alternative to hexane for the development of ingredients. These new ingredients can be implemented in innovative plant-based food concepts.
Extraction facility
Our extraction facility, New Holland Extraction Ltd. (NHE), is a UK based specialist in the extraction of niche market oils. NHE is able to help in the development of new innovations in the plant-based sector by scaling up trials for companies. NHE is able to offer a broad approach in processing with their capabilities to process with bio-based solvent, ethanol, and hexane.
