It is a protein originally isolated from the very famous oriental medicinal fungus (Ganoderma lucidum) and can stimulate cytokines including IFN-gamma even on oral dosing. In small dosage (100 mg/kg or less) it can increase the animal body weight very significantly. This is a very promising alternative for antibiotics now serving as additives in pig/cattle poultry farms. Application: it can be developed as immune stimulator for the human market as a dietary supplement.
