Naturex to highlight healthy on-the-go eating at Fi Europe
22 Nov 2019Today’s consumers are busier than ever, notes Naturex, pointing out that, according to Innova, food and beverage launches tracked with an on-the-go claim grew by 23% between 2017 and 2018.
While a home-cooked meal may not always be possible, at this year’s FI Europe, Naturex is showing visitors how it believes healthy eating can be compatible even with the most hectic of schedules.
Through its on-site kitchen and coffee bar, Naturex says it will be creating authentic, wholesome, and healthful take-away concepts using clean, clear and tasty plant-based ingredients.
In line with the plant-based protein trend, visitors to the Naturex kitchen will be invited to taste mini cup tacos filled with a meat analogue. The dish is said to leverage Naturex’s and Givaudan’s portfolios for a full taste, colour and functional experience.
The texturized vegetable protein filling is flavoured with Givaudan flavours and coloured with Naturex’s range of colouring foodstuffs, giving it, the company says, both an appealing meaty taste and appearance. For complete nutrition, the addition of Ultimine iron, a whole food fermented mineral, provides 15% of the recommended daily value of iron.
Visitors can build their own taco, beginning with either a red or orange oat tortilla. Made with oat beta-glucan and coloured with vegetable powders, the tortillas are said to offer a great nutritional profile with a possible health claim on cholesterol reduction. The tacos also come with a choice of two sauces: a mayo-like sauce that’s been stabilized against oxidation with Xtrablend RN, a clean label alternative to EDTA; as well as a passionfruit and jalapeno vegan sauce.
In addition: FiE visitors can take a break from the show and be transported to a hipster-style coffee shop at the Naturex stand. Designed to promote relaxation and overall well-being, beverages on the menu will feature both hot drinks prepared by a barista as well as RTD concepts, all made with botanicals for specific functionality.
Highlights will include a cool drink made with Naturex’s new line of floral infusions. Featuring chamomile and lavender, the RTD beverage has a natural peach flavour from Givaudan and is coloured with Naturex’s Vegetbrite black carrot.
For those looking to warm up, the coffee shop will be offering an organic Peruvian superfood caffe latte with Andean maca root extract. Visitors can also enjoy a blue moon milk made with Naturex’s Ultimate Blue Spirulina for a pastel blue colour, along with botanical extracts to complete the relaxation experience. The moon milk then receives a sprinkling of beetroot and spirulina colouring foodstuffs for a final touch.
Food Ingredients Europe will take place in Paris, France, from 3 – 5 December 2019. Naturex will present its products on stand #6A120.
