ProDigest's Animal Gastrointestinal Simulations

ProDigest has extended all its platforms to other species. The Upper GIT model is now available for simulating the canine and swine stomach and small intestine. Additionally, the SCIME™ (Simulator of the Canine Intestinal Microbial Ecosystem) model is deeply validated and used for the screening and identification of new feed ingredients or bioactive compounds, development of formulations and dosage for dogs. In our short-term setups, like the Colon-on-a-plate or the Short-term colon, the colonic microbiome of dogs, cats, pigs and poultry can be also evaluated. Even in the pharmaceutical industry, such platforms are suitable for validation of pre-clinical animal models. Compared to in vivo studies, ProDigest’s models have the advantage of operating without interference of environmental confounding factors, leading to a significant improvement of the effect/noise ratio.
