Commonly known as ‘Inca peanuts’, cultivated in the Amazon jungle and in the high mountains of the Andes of Peru, sacha inchi has formed part of the Inca diet for 3,000 years. The sacha inchi plant is a wild vine, with star-shaped seed pods. These 'Inca peanuts' are classified technically as seeds, not as nuts. Its high protein content and fatty acids make this product an excellent superfood.
