Norkem offers a wide range of products which includes sodium bicarbonate. It belongs to raising agents category. Material uses: it has a wide range of applications. The salt has many other names including sodium hydrogen carbonate and sodium bicarb as well as baking soda, bread soda and bicarbonate of soda. Used predominantly in the baking sector of the food industry where it reacts with other components in mixes and batters to release carbon dioxide which helps the raising process (hence its widespread use as a raising agent).
