Celery seeds

Celery is a biennial plant which belongs to Umbelliferae family like cumin, native to Asia and the Mediterranean region, cultivated as a vegetable. It is brownish- brown in colour. It is rich in protein, unsaturated fats, fiber, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, iron, zinc, vitamins A, B2, B3, B6, C, beta-carotene and other compounds. It is a good natural remedy for their diuretic effect, like another aromatic plant, marjoram. Its tea can be used to treat cystitis. It is a digestive aid like cardamom pods. It has a bitter taste, suitable for egg- based recipes, salads, stock- cubes, sauces and other seasoning, especially for red meat.
