Fucoxanthin

Fucoxanthin is an airless, odorless, orange-red or reddish-brown powdery substance. It is a fat-soluble powder, easily soluble in ethanol and other organic solvents, and insoluble in water. Shandong Jiejing Group Corporation is currently the only company in China that produces fucoxanthin extraction from brown algae on a large scale. Jiejing has a modern production line designed and constructed in accordance with GMP requirements, which possesses a high degree of automation and an annual capacity of 1,000 kg.

Raw material: Jiejing extracts fucoxanthin brown algae like kelp, copper algae, hijiki, and uses ethanol as the extraction agent in the production process, without using methanol, acetone.

Apperance: fucoxanthin has two forms of oil and powder. Depending on the purity, the appearance is orange-yellow or reddish-brown.

Fucoxanthin production process: brown algae pretreatment→alcohol extraction→separation and purification→concentration→crystallization→refined packaging

Specification: 1%-10% oil form, 1% -90% high purity powder form.

Fucoxanthin benefits:

Antitumor activity: The main mechanism involves induction of apoptosis, anti-malignant cell proliferation and induction of cell cycle arrest.(1) skin cancer, (2) colon cancer, (3) blood system tumors, (4) prostate cancer, (5) liver cancer.

Antioxidant activity: Fucoxanthin molecule contains 6 oxygen atoms, so it is more sensitive to free radicals, especially in anoxic environment. In addition, the fucoxanthin molecule contains an allene structure, which has strong antioxidant activity.

Protective effect: Fucoxanthin has protective effects on eyes, bones, brain vessels, liver, and skin.

Anti-obesity effect: Fucoxanthin can induce uncoupling protein-1 (UCP1) in the mitochondria of abdominal white adipose tissue, up-regulate the expression of uncoupling protein-1, through the oxidation and thermogenesis of fatty acids in white adipose tissue to achieve the purpose of consuming energy. Fucoxanthin can promote the transformation of white fat into brown adipose tissue, thereby accelerating the decomposition of fat in the body.

Storage: Fucoxanthin is easily oxidized by air, sensitive to light and heat. The product must be vacuum-packed or filled with nitrogen, protected from light and high temperature, stored at low temperature (below 4°C), and used up as soon as possible after opening the package. If it is not finished and needs to be stored, the air in the package must be exhausted and filled with nitrogen for storage.
