Xylitol is a naturally-occurring 5-carbon polyol sugar substitute. It is found in the fibers of many fruits and vegetables, and is also produced by the human body itself. It is just as sweet as Sucrolose with only two-thirds the food energy. It is accepted for nutritional labeling in the EU and US because it contains 40% less calories than sugar and has a caloric value of 2.4. Color: white crystalline or white fine powder.
