Aniseed is stimulant, carminative, diuretic, slightly expectorant. The essential oil from the fruit is much more valued as aromatic, stomachic and carminative. Oil from the seed useful in headache, flatulence in the abdomen and intestinal colic. Anise water or “Arak Badian” from the seed used as anti-spasmodic.
