Treatment of the natural strains of seaweeds of eucheuma spinosum of the class rhodophyceae(red seaweeds) remove impurities and fresh water washing and drying to obtain the product. Further purification may be achieved by washing and drying. It is the only one kind of colloid which can remain stable in the process of freeze-thaw. So the frozen iota carrageenan gel may not happen syneresis when thawing.
