Mannan-oligosaccharides (MOS)
Product description
Mannan oligosaccharides (MOS) refer to oligosaccharides
derived from partial hydrolysis of mannans, rendering them indigestible.
Generally, MOS can be categorized into two types: α-mannose oligosaccharides
and β-mannose oligosaccharides. α-Mannose oligosaccharides are obtained through
the breakdown of α-(1-6) bonds found in yeast cell wall mannans, whereas
β-mannose oligosaccharides are typically sourced from mannan-rich
oligosaccharides by cleaving β-(1-4)-glycosidic bonds or derived from plants.
Regarded as a premium prebiotic, MOS is often referred to as the
"intestinal soft gold."
